Lamb Torture

A couple of weeks before our county fair, all the little lambies had to be sheared. Some professional shearers came to the fairgrounds and buzzed their wool off in record time. Glenn said it took about five minutes from start to finish. (Nicole and I were at home at the time getting ready for the 4-H District horse show, because we like to do multiple 4-H events on any given day...)
Glenn also said Nicole's lamb didn't seem too fond of the process.

Don't know why not. Looks delightful.

Duct Tape Bird

On a recent camping trip, Morgan and a friend started out making a flag. He came into the camper wanting flag making materials. I was fresh out. We were able to come up with a paper plate, shish-ka-bob sticks, plastic forks, and good old duct tape
Somewhere along the way, the "flag" became a bird instead.
And what a bird it was!!

Fun with Hay!

More pictures from Glenn's smartphone while the kids were out playing in the hayfields with him.
Check out that shadow.

Young Farmers

The kids still enjoy going out with their daddy when he's working in the hay fields. Ellea got to make her first bale of hay! She's ahead of me! I've gone along when he's baling, but never made my very own bale! (And, yes Glenn's round bales are about 5 feet tall!)

Morgan tagged along every chance he got. Here he is in the swather, "helping" his dad cut the hay. Haying season used to seem long and tortuous when I was home alone for hours on end with young children. It's not so bad now, especially when I can send them with Glenn!

Horsie/Hubby Rides

We ended the day the same way we started it. With a horsie ride! Glenn joined us this time, and we had a great race.

At one point, the girls were giving their brother piggy-back rides. Then Glenn was offering rides, and I asked for one. He's such a good sport (and a goof!) that, of course, he obliged. I'm nice enough that I got off once the picture was taken. (No husband's were injured in the taking of this photo.)

Timber Terror

Morgan decided that he wanted to go on a roller coaster at Silverwood for the first time this year. I was a little skeptical that Morgan would like it, but it sounds like he did okay.

Glenn is the designated roller coaster partner in this family. I'm not sure it's his favorite pasttime, but he tolerates it better than I would. He told Morgan to scream. Morgan screamed for the entire ride!

Both girls have tried roller coasters, but didn't volunteer to go again this year!
