Street Signs

Near a busy intersection of Times Square, we saw this sign. . . . .


I didn't understand it. We had to wait at the crosswalk. Were we supposed to jog in place?

I got home and Googled it and it means that you can stop and unload passengers, but you can't park there. That's about as clear as mud.

Another perplexing sign that we spotted while driving to our hotel was--

"No honking. $350 Fine."

Honking seems to be the state pasttime. We actually heard someone honk while we were driving throught that particular intersection. How in the world can they possibly enforce that sign?! How would they know exactly which car emitted the offensive honk?

These are the things I lose sleep over.
