They're known to squeeze through fences and go exploring. It's not uncommon to hear mama cows bawling at their babies because they've wandered too far away. The babies will often ignore their mamas until they're hungry.
This one was by the back deck looking all cute. He was ignoring his mom. (He is standing next to our poor, dejected Christmas tree.)
Then he saw me taking his picture and ran away..... "Mama, mama, a big scary lady is trying to get me!"
