As we wandered around downtown New York, we saw the signs directing us to the 9-11 Memorial. You have to get (free) tickets to see it because there's still construction going on around it, and it's only open during the day, so we didn't see it. It's amazing to be down there and think about the massive destruction and how scary and sureal an experience that must have been.
This firehouse is just across the street from what was the World Trade Center.
There is this bronze memorial on the wall of the firehouse that runs parallell to the World Trade Center block.
The FDNY Memorial wall is dedicated to the 343 members of the NYC Fire Department that died on that tragic day.
